Chef Camron Woods has spent twenty-one years fine-tuning his culinary talents at several high-end resorts. Most recently Woods was been part of the preopening team of The Ranch at Laguna Beach. For two years he has been leading the Culinary and Beverage teams in completely remodeling, re-branding and revamping this historic local icon of Laguna Beach, California. Prior to The Ranch at Laguna Beach, Camron spent 7 years as executive chef of Amaya La Jolla and at the Grand Del Mar Resort, a Five Star, Five Diamond property. Before moving to San Diego to open The Grand Del Mar, he was restaurant chef at Four Seasons Great Exuma in the Bahamas and restaurant chef at the award-winning Four Seasons Atlanta.
Born and raised in Charleston, S.C., he embarked on his culinary career at Woodlands Resort & Inn in Summerville, S.C. – starting as a dishwasher and working his way up the ranks to executive sous chef. During Woods’ eight-year tenure, the resort attained world-class status with a number of coveted awards: it became the first Five Star and Five Diamond property in the state and one of three in the nation to receive both awards simultaneously; earned membership into the prestigious Relais & Châteaux organization and Relais Gourmand; and received a perfect 100 food score on Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold List.
Active in the culinary world, he has appeared many times on news programs such as KUSI TV’s “Good Morning San Diego” and participated in special charity events including Mama’s Kitchen, The San Diego Council on Literacy’s “Eat.Drink.Read.” fundraiser, The Boys and Girls Club, and many others.
